      A third generation family owned and operated business, the Pete Smith Automotive Group has been serving the local community for over sixty years. From its beginnings under an oak tree, the Smith family has expanded to six locations covering Wake, Franklin, and Vance counties. Now, with forty-five employees, the Pete Smith Automotive Group handles any automotive need from speedy routine maintenance at any one of their five Quick Lubes, to major engine overhaul at their service garage.

      Keith Smith, President of Pete Smith Automotive, credits the community, and his family’s involvement in the community, for the company’s growth. As long time members and supporters of the Chamber of Commerce, Pete Smith Automotive has played an active role in attracting new businesses and families to the area. Smith has served on the school board, and is currently at the center of an effort to open a Boys & Girls Club in Franklin County. “I feel like we all belong to our community. It is my privilege to do anything I can,” Smith says.

      Customer service and satisfaction are the first and foremost priorities for Pete Smith Automotive. Highly trained staff works with customers to determine how to best meet each individual’s automotive needs. Smith feels that thorough and continuous training is vital for success, and many of Pete Smith’s technicians have attained ASE certification. Requiring at least two years experience and successful completion of ACT administered testing, ASE is the nationally recognized standard of excellence in automotive repair.

      In the waiting room, Pete Smith Automotive strives to provide a first rate experience as well. Customers can enjoy a hot cup of coffee and other refreshment while they surf the internet via WiFi, or flip through one of many current magazines. Pete Smith staff reports that many customers spend their time simply relaxing on the leather couches, enjoying the tranquility of the fish filled aquariums! Smith summarizes their philosophy by saying, “We never promise more than we can deliver, and we always strive to go the extra mile to give the customer more than they expect.”
